When translating controls into German, do I assume a German keyboard?
You are right, the german keyboard layout differs in the Y/Z keys.
You can assume players will use their own language specific layout first, not the english layout. … In this case also a german player has to input a "z", which is the key in the center of the upper row on his keyboard.
