Inertial Ignorance

Ignorance is inertial, until you do something about it.

FIDE master in chess, with a national rating of approximately 2300. I'm also the author of a couple of recent opening books, and have been coaching for a number of years (currently looking to take on new online students of any level).

The favourite part of chess I enjoy studying is opening theory. Our collective knowledge base is constantly expanding, and with more powerful technology (and more theoreticians working hard) it will continue to do so. Of course this is only one part of the story, and there are plenty of concepts in the middlegame and endgame that are fascinating too. Succeeding as a practical player requires being just as skilled in these stages of the game as well.
