I am developing an app using AndEngine and I am using my own custom theme to use white background theme. My styles.xml file looks like this:

<color name="white_opaque">#FFFFFF</color>
<color name="pitch_black">#000000</color>

@color/white_opaque

@color/white_opaque

@color/white_opaque

Everything is working fine except in the dialog box the font color is white and it looks like this:

alert dialog box

How can I change the font color to black for the text?

    \$\begingroup\$ This question appears to be off-topic because it's about an AndEngine bug best raised with its developers. (If the approach recommended in the documentation fails as stated, that's all we can conclude.) \$\endgroup\$ – Anko Sep 11 '14 at 20:37
  • \$\begingroup\$ So this is the bug and there is not any solution. \$\endgroup\$ – Sudeep Acharya Sep 13 '14 at 4:07
  • \$\begingroup\$ Is that a question? (Did I make a mistake in my logic?) \$\endgroup\$ – Anko Sep 13 '14 at 18:50
  • \$\begingroup\$ I was asking whether there is solution or not. \$\endgroup\$ – Sudeep Acharya Sep 14 '14 at 6:16
  • \$\begingroup\$ I don't know. I'm not an AndEngine developer. \$\endgroup\$ – Anko Sep 14 '14 at 16:07

So far you only specified the background colors in your style. You also need to define the foreground / font colors for your style:

@color/pitch_black

Reference: android:textColor

  • \$\begingroup\$ It does not work. \$\endgroup\$ – Sudeep Acharya Sep 11 '14 at 16:36
  • \$\begingroup\$ @SudeepAcharya Does it work if you directly set the color code as a hex value e. g. "#ffaa00"? \$\endgroup\$ – Philip Allgaier Sep 11 '14 at 17:20
  • \$\begingroup\$ Nope, it does not work by changing android:textColor. \$\endgroup\$ – Sudeep Acharya Sep 11 '14 at 17:43
