I'm developing a Multimedia Software for Kindergarten Kids. It introduce them to animals, Alphabets, Simple Math, Colors and it contain some simple games.

Music is very crucial for my project and it is very important to choose the right sort of music for different sections. But unfortunately I know nothing about music.

Is there a music consultant firm which can help me to choose melodies and rythmes for my project from free music available in internet. My Budget is limited but as this is mandatory and I have no knowledge or taste about music, I think I can afford to pay for this.

  • \$\begingroup\$ There are plenty of places to get free or commercial music to use as background music in a game. If you'd like to explore on your own, you can check out this directory below, it has many links to other sites offering legal music for media projects. They pre-screen each link and post a short review, so you know what to expect even before visiting each site. safemusiclist.com - directory of safe and legal music resources for filmmakers, video producers, and game developers. Alternatively, I will be happy to supervise music selection for your project. I am a music composer. \$\endgroup\$ – MikS Music Dec 19 '12 at 16:13

  • \$\begingroup\$ @Mr.Beast I'm not sure that's true in all cases. I agree that it's the case for some music. But there's certainly a distinction for most music. \$\endgroup\$ – MichaelHouse Dec 19 '12 at 19:27

If you don't trust your own music taste you could crowd source the selection of music.

Find a few free tracks from some of the sites Nailer suggested, do some filtering of the list through friends. With the short list make a poll and/or post some where. It could be part of your marketing, "vote for your chance to win a free copy of the software".

Well, just choose these music that kids are listening. But mind the diffrence.

Teenager != Kid

Teenager may enjoy more to musicstyles like Linkin Park

Kids would enjoy those songs, well how to explain, like in the kindergarden. In Germany you would use songs like "Alle meine Entchen" :)

So if you're choosing for Teenager you can use Rockmusic, for Kids some more simple melodys / rythms are better.
