Is there a repository of small images... for example a spacecraft in space or a Mario Bros jumping and running...

Also a Google image search with the work "sprite sheet" in it is usually pretty useful.

2\$\begingroup\$ Or better yet don't. Use the source rectangle in the spritebatch.draw function to draw only a portion of an image. Uses less memory and renders faster that way. \$\endgroup\$ – ClassicThunder Nov 18 '11 at 7:18

\$\begingroup\$ +1 ClassicThunder's response. Splitting up the sprite sheet into discrete textures is an uncommon approach and will just make you juggle many texture objects in arrays. Not good. \$\endgroup\$ – ChrisC Nov 18 '11 at 21:26
