I've been following this RawInput tutorial for detecting game controllers that are attached to the system. I'm able to detect the gamepads, add them to the list of game controllers, and interpret their input correctly. But I also want to detect if the gamepad is compatible with the XInput API so that I can use that instead and not have any "duplicate" controllers.

I've been searching throughout the HID, RawInput, and XInput documentation and have found nothing that seems related to determining if a specific gamepad is a valid XInput device. How do I get this information?

PS: I know I could brute-force it by comparing XInput queries with RawInput queries, but I'd REALLY rather not do that. I also couldn't find anything using search engines.
