I understand that this software is really catering towards the JRPG style, but I'm interested in making a "16Bit" style open-world RPG.

Does anyone know if that's plausibly achievable with RPG Maker MV? OR is there a more suitable equivalent?

Is there a particular aspect or mechanic of your open-world game you're having trouble translating into RPG Maker based on your reading and prototyping thus far? If so, try rephrasing your question to describe that specific challenge and users here may be able to suggest ways to overcome it. \$\endgroup\$ – DMGregory May 8 '18 at 5:57
  • \$\begingroup\$ Hi @DMGregory sorry but my question is pretty much what it says on the tin. Is there a better stack site I can ask this on? I always get caught out by what is and isn't off topic. \$\endgroup\$ – Wompguinea May 8 '18 at 9:07

\$\begingroup\$ You can try Software Recommendations, but I don't think what you're looking for is really a software feature. "Can make open world" isn't exactly a bullet point one puts on the box. It's more about what you put into your development. \$\endgroup\$ – DMGregory May 8 '18 at 12:08
