I like your method, I love books and got plenty for a student but unfortunately I don't have "Effective C++" serie yet (It's in my "To Buy" list). I don't know about "Modern C++ design" but I will take a look a it, thank you for the suggestion. Concerning your exemples, I think that a mix of the two could maybe suit my needs just fine. I will try to take the second exemple, but send it another object that could be NULL so it can be generic enouph for every possible actions in the game.

I Can't use prolog, the project already is under a specific engine so I'm limited

Your answer is well explained, I like the callback method of doing, but I would like if you can answer this; The activations are made by cliking an object, as well as interactions. The kind of action depends on the "PlayerHand" object's current state. Would this cause a problem ?

comment Building a Plattformer - How to determine if a player is allowed to jump?
Maybe it does make thinks easier to read. I approuve the changes you made, the method I used was correct but I had not adjusted the code for the explaination enouph, thank you for the corrections. For the namespace, you are quite right, but this is not true for all languages (Scripting languages for exemple). The "Security" is that my config options are static so they can't be modified but using an enum prevent this as well.

Well yes, the enum can't (I think) use binary operators to create new custom groups. The reason why I made theses const is that I use a Config class with public static members for readability reasons, keeping security of config parameters.

This won't work if you want to add features such as double jumps, or wall jumps I think ?

Absolutly ! For exemple, the player could take an object an make it interact with another one (ex: dropping it on a surface of combining objects). He could also "Activate" an object by clicking on it.

comment What scripting language would you recommend for a C++ game project?
I agreed this have a particular educational advantage. Still it requires some knowledge and skills in programming languages theory (which a lot of people THINK they have) and some knowledge in theory of Computing. If this answers seams appealing to someone, I would suggest theses two books : amazon.com/gp/product/0136073476/ref=oss_product and amazon.com/gp/product/0534950973/ref=oss_product

comment Discussion about Serious Games : Their lacks and forces
If you compare video games to other industry, they are quite young. Maybe in a couple of decades, when project managers, school teachers, politicians will be replaced by younger ones who known video games from their youth, this vision will be more likely to change.

comment How important is music to mobile phone (smart PDA) games?
Maibe but you can think of well known Iphone games using music like Tap Tap Revolution. If this game works, it means players probably like music on their portable device ;)

You're probably just right, using such "Serious" games more on the "Serious Simulation" way could be a good thing. It could be a great achivement to prouve Flow in such games. If there is any, university students would probably be more enthusiast for learning more complex phenomenons on different subjects. Here is a link about Flow in games if anyone wonders : jenovachen.com/flowingames/p31-chen.pdf

comment Discussion about Serious Games : Their lacks and forces
Wow thanks for all the link, I appreciate. I'm not quite old (21) so for older video games, I don't really know serious ones. A question I am asking to myself is, concidering serious video games are already used for children education in elementary schools and seems to be a nice supplement, could they possibly get a place (or did they already) in Degree education ?

Thank you for the link on Games in Education, I will surely take a look at it tonight. As for the name "Serious Games" I must only partially agree with you. In fact, maybe the term "Serious" isn't quite the word to use, but it surely is the one to use if you want everyone to understand. Is that a good reason ? Well maybe not, as Zimmerman and Salen said in their book Rules of play, the vocabulary of video games are not quite well defined for now. Finally I strongly agree with you about for balance in forms of learning.
