Can I get enough experience to get an industry job just by reading books? If you're working in a team making a "real nice 2D platform" game, why would you want to work for one of the big companies where you will have less say so over what you do or make? I have never really understood the attraction to working for a big game company as a coder. It's most likely not going to be what you think it is. Just my opinion. |

Can learning how to do empirical research help a game developer? Well, I plan on having a day job till I could support myself as an indie. So, the time would not be a factor. I would just want to do everything I possibly can think of to make sure my game can have some success. |
