Handling scripted and “native” components in a component-based entity system I totally agree with the first paragraph, I often do my job in this way. Writing code you know you may have to reimplement it in lower level language, is like to take a loan KNOWING that you will have to pay for interests. IT designers often take loans: this is good when they know that they did it and they keep their debts under control. |

Design patterns for rules systems? @kaoD this answer is basically an advice (I find usefull). Mine is an advice too; I give some pattern I think can be usefull but just for a matter of politeness: this question deserves a philosophical approach to the answer more than a practical one. This is the reason why you my find answers that seem to be too generic to be usefull. |
