Did not they draw Bresenham lines (or DDA lines) for projected points(can be derived on similar triangles)?

comment How can I determine the first visible tile in an isometric perspective?
Use some of Polygon Intersection (or Polygon Clipping) algorithms (or use library) to create intersection. Then map these points to Your map.

Have You considered making the map into polygons and rendering it with OpenGL? This might avoid whole problem. :) 1.) Note that, GL can be accelerated by hardware, is easy to use, supports things like lighting, fog, color blending, transparency ... new version even shaders. 2.) You can use GL for now, work on other parts of Your work, after You are more experienced You can go back and make the rendering work the way You want it.

a) Upload image to image hosting site and insert its url there. b) Multiple image urls can be on one pastebin url. c) Insert textual link "Text is on on pastebin with suffix Lxzygtv9". You can that image later; or somebody else who can add images right now can (I seem to have the rights to edit and insert image).

comment Multiplayer card game using PHP/Ajax and mysql
Make tables in database (2) for active players, store their properties; properties which capture necessary gamestate. In PHP get/set data from/to database + needed processing based on requests (2). I would use ajax to do these requests (1), based on player's actions, timers ... js -> php "joe says hi" ... php-> database "add this message" ... php->js "message added"

@Gajet try to do some debug drawing until You get it right? This pendulum line might be done as a sufficiently thin box in Box2D to get collisions (and maybe exclude it from physics and move by hand?).

What about simple pendulum for rope + some animations which apear ropeish? I do not believe that old games like Bionic Commando had something else than pendulum.
