What i want to know is how they would have gone about that process when coding in Overgrowth. I know i can rig/animate etc. in Maya, etc. i would just rather not... (I also am not positive on how to export animations, etc.)

I basically just want animation of characters in a game i'm working on, couldn't find any other decent ways of going about it with openTK, so started working on my own rigger and animator. I have the skeletal animation and creation set out, i just need the actual connection to the mesh now. (If you have better animation solutions please do tell :D )

Yeah, i read your blog, just couldn't think of a way to convert it to 3D, still can't unfortunately, though i just came up with my own method.

Unfortunately it is the boundaries that i am after, not the camera.Y i need to find out. Thanks anyway, you helped me do a little equation to find the highest possible camera position!

comment Sloped tiles in Platformer
i made a pixel based game, each pixel was actually 4x4. The player was 8 pixels high and i put the wall collisions at 5 pixels high, meaning he could go up one pixel in height, but not 2. So this works well with non-sloped tiles (that give the effect of a slope), but yes, ananonymously's example is better for tiled slopes. Also, yes, the two extra corner tiles is a good idea. :D

comment MMORPG game balancing
As Patrick said, noone plays an MMO to say "Hey man, the burn inflicted by my bonfire blade is great!" They play it for fun. The only time people ever talk about game mechanics like that is when they are complaining "<XXX> needs a nurf/buff!" In which case it is an excellent opportunity for developers to listen out for such comments, to analyze and act accordingly.

Also, i tried billboarding with MPE, but the problem is it renders all explosions on one flat image. I need them on staggered levels, not all one flat plane.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention, looking for 3D, not 2D :P
