Rendering metallic look @msell: possibly, but I want to know if (and perhaps why) sphere mapping is out of the question. |

Rendering metallic look I'm sure you're right about phong's shortcomings, but an example "before/after image" would really help to give some understanding. The wikipedia article you're referring to says Heidrich-Seidel is "phong based"; would I really be able to tell the difference, or is it just gfx-hifi-guru masturbation? |

Modeling speed of light information propagation in space combat sim @JohnBiesnecker: Just look out for making into a "strategy map" game, because if the only real visualization you will have is a HUD then that's essentially what you've made. Perhaps the whole time aspect will be lost on the player in that scenario? Anyway, plan accordingly and good luck! |

Modeling speed of light information propagation in space combat sim @JohnBiesnecker: That seems all fine, but what about just showing the oponents? At a distance of 1/10th of your field an opponent will eclipse 1.7e-6 arcseconds... A LOT less than a pixel. How will you display the opponent? |

Modeling speed of light information propagation in space combat sim Whoa! Games are mostly about visualization. I need to know how do you plan to visualize opponents when pixels are far too big? Simple HUD indicators? A text mode adventure game? Please enlighten me! |

How to make my characters turn smoothy while walking on a path(list of coordinates)? @Patryk: I also enjoyed it, especially the part about flocking behavior, which might have sparked a small game idea. :) |

Using C++11 for cross-platform Game Engine Development Highly interesting; have you tried it yourself for this (or a similar) purpose? |

How do I store and handle time in social game? Use the DB, for the same reason you use a DB. Speed of the DB can be "configured" if ever necessary. |
