comment For 2D games, is there any reason NOT to use a 3D API like Direct3D or OpenGL?
Although your reply came some years late (O.o) I can say that I've got now an laptop that has nVidia Optimus (it has a nVidia and a Intel GPU that alternate, theoretically "as needed") and I can say that it only reinforced my opinion that Intel is crap, even basic 2D stuff don't run properly on Intel mode. Still, if you read my original awnser, I said that crap Intel, that DO support OpenGL, is more expensive than VIA/SIS/other chinese crap that are of course, worse.

comment Why are there so few games compiled for 64-bit processors?
Josh Petrie I actually found out yesterday that the official MinGW does not support 64-bit, and they have no intention of ever supporting it, it seems. There is a fork of MinGW called MinGW-W64 that does support 64-bit, it is not part of the official MinGW project.
