comment What makes a good jump scare?
I love Extra Credits. They are a strong resource to any game developer.

comment Will performance suffer if I have a really large depth range but not very many objects?
If I understand correctly, I should be able to move my zNear closer to my zFar since there is nothing to render between my camera and things near the ground. That should help fight z-fighting right?

comment How to create a White Hot thermal camera?
Looks like I'd have to do that on a per Material basis. Is there a global way to set that tag?

I haven't tried it yet. Can tags be changed at runtime?

comment How to create a White Hot thermal camera?
I've gotten over the issue about where to store temperature and displaying the objects using it's proper colors or the colors inspired by the temp. Now I'm trying to figure out how to either 1) Conditionally remove shadows using a surface shader or 2) Conditionally add shadows using a vertex/fragment shader.

comment Most efficient way for nested loop to not repeat a value of parent loop in pair-wise structure (C# or Javascript)
It's worth pointing out that in your i for loop's comparison, you'd only need to go until listToCompare.length - 1 that way there's room for j's i+1 without overflowing.

comment Level Design: Char Traveling to and from a Site
There could also be plot points that manipulate the level. You could help a mining town get newer tools and they could help build something to get the player back up the cliff. Event driven world manipulation can also help the player feel more involved. This is an alternative to an item that would enable the player.
