comment What's this sound effect called [Usually associated with swords in anime]
well, sounds like a dramatic chord to me.. not really related to swords, but any "dramatic" situation in general.

comment What are the challenges and benefits of writing games with a functional language?
An anonymous user tried to edit this answer wiping the "ugly" part. "The garbage collector in Haskell is now concurrent, parallel, and generational as of 2011 (ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/blog/new-gc-preview)";

comment How would I go about updating my electronic circuit simulator's 'electricity'?
@GustavoMaciel I hear you, and for single questions, sure, but circuit simulation is a bit too big topic for a single q/a.

comment Are there any reasons to use Legacy (2.X) OpenGL?
I have a different opinion: 1.x has plenty of uses still and is most widely supported. 2.x can be forgotten. If you need shaders, go 3.x.

comment Maximum sensible audio sample rate
Interesting. My thought was that due to over-using compression we're pretty much losing bit depth, so adding bits would "kind of" help with that.

comment Maximum sensible audio sample rate
I have to wonder if that 16/24bit audible difference is partially due to loudness wars =)

If they do what they claim and easily solve your art asset problem, I wouldn't say that at $20-$50 they're "not worth their cost".

comment Why is an engine like Unity3D emphasized over a native library like OpenGL for beginners?
Two words: Instant Gratification. You can get something "useful" done with unity without knowing much, while getting an OpenGL app going takes quite a few code lines and understanding of wide range of concepts.
