You know that college kid who says he wants to make video? He draws up half a design document and tells everyone he knows he's a game designer and all he needs is a team of people and he'll be rich and famous in no time. I'm not that guy. I have a passion for not just experiencing video games but also creating them. I still look like that kid: in school, not making money yet from my games, occasionally slacking, and maybe a bit TOO enthusiastic, but I'm absolutely dedicated.

How do I draw a scrolling background? Is 2400X480 larger than your scree? Because if so, you only need to draw it once at a time. If the player can't view it there is no since drawing it. |

How do I draw a scrolling background? How about adding a screenshot? Your problem is extremely vague. You have to be as specific as possible to get good help from this site. Were you drawing your background as one large image or as a set of tiles? I assumed a large image because backgrounds are not normally constructed from tiles. The level structure usually is but not the background. |

How do I draw a scrolling background? What do you mean no solution? What is still going wrong? Perhaps 200 is far too much to multiply by. I was thinking a number between 0 and 1 might be right. |

How to make a scrolling background I would never suggest using an animated GIF for animations in a game. Animating single frames of PNG images is almost always better. |

How do I draw a scrolling background? What does your game loop look like? Because you need to be changing the position in the update section and drawing it in its current position in the draw section. This is the best (and pretty much only) way to make real-time games. If you edit your question to show what your game loop looks like, I will help you understand how to do this. |

Android frame by frame PNG animation JBox2D, like many other ports, is still Box2D. It's just a port so no need to get overly specific. As far as the Java v. C++ debate (far outside of the scope here), proper game programming in Java can completely avoid "hiccups" and improper garbage collection. Whether or not it's "well implemented" is up to the programmer doing the implementing. |

Android frame by frame PNG animation My mistake. I said PNGs are a bad choice but I was thinking of GIFs. PNGs are the preferred image format. |
