You know that college kid who says he wants to make video? He draws up half a design document and tells everyone he knows he's a game designer and all he needs is a team of people and he'll be rich and famous in no time. I'm not that guy. I have a passion for not just experiencing video games but also creating them. I still look like that kid: in school, not making money yet from my games, occasionally slacking, and maybe a bit TOO enthusiastic, but I'm absolutely dedicated.

Check out my silly little company: http://www.detour-games.com

This doesn't answer your question, but is definitely the better advice: don't. Don't sell your place and move and hire people to make your game. It is extremely likely that you won't succeed and will lose A LOT of money. Success is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration. Your ideas are near worthless (sorry!), but your hard work is what will make you succeed. LEARN how to code, draw, mix sound or FIND people willing to help you for free. Just start making a game, that's all that matters in the beginning. Worry about location, expenses, etc. later. Just start making games.

comment Pathfinding and BSP with Box2D
Yes, I really do need pathfinding. I have (as you suggested) characters that need to follow the main character. Also, the level design has multiple passages (similar to 2D sonic games). I have a 2D array of tiles when I first load the level, but this is not sufficient as I also have moving obstacles. You said, "for every (walkable) tile you place, you can add a node to your data-structure". My question is: What kind of data structure should I use?

No, the only grid is in my level editor. All my entities just have a position inside of a Box2D world.

comment How to check battery usage of an iPhone/Android app?
yes, it is very bad for precise profiling, but as far as I have seen, I have never known a phone that didn't have it.

In the settings on Android there is a section for battery. It shows detailed information about your energy consumption and even which apps are using how much (given as a percentage of overall battery use).

Yes, that would have been my guess also after reading your comment on my question. You should accept your own answer.

comment 2D Animation Smoothness - Delta time vs. Kinematics
Your physics should be using kinematics anyways. Updating "per tick" and depending on a steady framerate is asking for trouble. Your simulation should calculate physics as a function of time like your friend said. It's not overkill, its how you're supposed to do it.

A for loop would be even more clear.
