What would make a good cursor movement sound effect? There's more to this than just the genre; the sound also has to match the style of the game. A retro-type "blip" works fine in the GBA game Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, but in the upcoming Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS, it's wouldn't be appropriate, and a Portal 2-type tick is better (and based on a trailer I recently saw, it seems like they're actually doing that). |

FreeType2 Crash on FT_Init_FreeType That error code (STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT) usually occurs when you're trying to load a 32-bit DLL into a 64-bit application, or vice versa. Are you sure both FreeType and your program were compiled for the same architecture? |

Doing an SNES Mode 7 (affine transform) effect in pygame @GustavoMaciel: That's a bit inaccurate. The SNES had 8 different modes (0-7), in which up to 4 background layers had different functionality, but only one mode (mode 7, hence the name) supported rotation and scaling (and also restricted you to a single layer). You couldn't really combine the modes. |

RPG hit/miss formula @thedaian: That would make you less likely to hit as dexterity increases. Probably not what you should be going for. :) |

What is realism? Reality is unrealistic. (Warning: link goes to TV Tropes. Don't go there unless you have a couple of hours to waste; it's very likely you'll lose track of time.) |

Mods for Minecraft Server - how does it work? @BlueRaja: Huh - could have sworn it was a stand-alone server, but then again, I admit that I never actually used it. It's kind of a special case, since it appears to work by acting as a proxy server between the player and the server. I still wouldn't quite call it a mod, but that may just be me. |
