comment What does a Game Designer do? what skills do they need?
I respect this view (even though it's kinda diametrically opposed to mine). It's visionary designers who give us stuff like Nobi Nobi Boy and the industry needs a few of them to explore new frontiers. The main trouble with visionaries is that they can have difficulty explaining their unique vision to the people who actually have to implement it. (Not a problem for a visionary like Jeff Minter, who writes his own code.)
