comment Conveying a claustrophobic atmosphere in cavalier oblique projection
They were top-down functionally, but the player and scenery faced the camera.

I remember the original Zelda dungeons being a bit claustrophobic. If I had to guess, I'd says its from the level design that limits where you can move combined with the number of enemies. Having walls, darker colors, and small doorways might also play a role.

comment How can I discourage camping while still supporting a “sniper” style of play?
@MatthewWhited This is how Halo has always done it (and many others) but occasionally a game's plot or setting might use alternatives, such as the TF2 bunker-spawn style

@Dunk I always heard it called "spawn-camping" which naturally shortens to camping. I've also heard things like "They are camping in that hallway" but that's less of a sniper nest scenario.

comment How can I find the valid words in a grid of characters?
@Taemyr IF(rowMoved){ checkColumns(); checkMovedRow(); } IF(columnMoved){ checkRows() checkMovedColumn();} If a user can only move one at a time, then on the ending of that move, no parallel letters have moved and therefore no need to recheck those.
