Now, unfortunately, the next part of the code in my snippet requires GL_ARB_explicit_uniform_location, which is part of OpenGL 4.2 and not supported by Mesa yet...

So I figured out that enabling GL_ARB_explicit_attrib_location made that error go away.

Also, my version of Mesa is GL 3.0, I can't use any versions higher than 130.

That's strange. A friend of mine (who made the above code) reports that this code works fine when he runs it, version 120 and all.

@KerrekSB I had this experience myself with a Pokémon game engine project. The art they made was atrocious, and the way they combined it was hideous.
