What other components would one have to combine with Ogre 3D render engine to make a full fledged custom game engine? For your second point, is there a specific platform(s) you are targeting? |

What revenue models exist for online games? +1 for the descriptions with game examples. One model you missed is the one-time-purchase model used by Guild Wars. |

What revenue models exist for online games? Can you be a little more specific, by describing what you mean by "online games"? There are multiplayer games, MUDs, MMOs, social games, etc., each with their own variety of business models. |

Discussion about Serious Games : Their lacks and forces Personally, I have not run across any games designed specifically for degree education, but I can think of a number of practical applications: An economy simulator to study the long term impact of economic decisions. An injury/illness simulator that would allow students to practice diagnoses. I think the power of serious games in degree education is in their ability to simulate complex real-world situations in the classroom, providing students with an environment to fail safely, and tools to analyze the potential long term consequences of decisions. |

What makes a good educational game? In order to answer questions 1 and 3, can you provide more information on the type(s) of video games your framework/engine (which is it?), will support? Saying you want to make an engine for "educational games" is like saying you want to make an engine for "AAA games"; Although we understand what you mean at some level, the constructs of educational and AAA games are way too broad for someone to provide sound technical advice, without additional information. |

Discussion about Serious Games : Their lacks and forces I do not believe that this question should have been closed. This question asks "what the value of serious games are to education and work", then delves deeper by asking how they could be incorporated into primary education. To me, this seems like a very valid discussion topic. |

What roles are important when staffing up a mobile studio? I'd like to add that you'll probably want to seek out a project manager/producer with a fair amount of mobile game development experience under his/her belt. When starting a company, it's imperative that you have an expert(s) on staff that can help with strategic and development decisions, and the project management role fulfills that need perfectly. |
