Is there an optimum set of colors for 10 players? Being a tetrachromat helps distinguish colors in the real world, because normal objects have complex spectra. However, being a tetrachromat would not help for computer games, because monitors only have three colors (red green blue). To benefit people with the mutation in the article, a new monitor with four colors (red green blue orange) would be needed. The limited RGB color space also means that all photos/videos must look quite unrealistic to a tetrachromat. |
