@StevenSmith and can you do this with a shader? That's the question. I'm not talking about a normal C# class...

comment Can I legally make a free clone of a game and use the same name?
@BlueMonkMN the problem is not the "free" (which is a nice question, but has already been asked IIRC), the problem is the "using the same name", which is obviously wrong for me. You don't need to be a lawyer to guess that even if you are allowed to make a clone, you are not to do anything that might make people think it's "official"...

@StevenSmith that's the point, could I have somehow created a child "class" adding a new "method", instead?

@StevenSmith exactly. And it works as intended. I'm just wondering if this is the correct approach, or there was a "more proper" one.

comment Hobbyist game dev, want to create async multiplayer game. Are server costs manageable?
@Christian if you don't need heavy resources, then you can expect to pay much less than 13€/month, IIRC.

Link-only answers are bad, since the links may break in future.

@StevenSmith I have no clue what are you talking about. Maybe you misread the question, I guess?

@BlueMonkMN I appreciate that, but... you are asking something that is so clearly obviously illegal, that I'm not sure how it could be salvaged.

I like legal questions very much, and I'm quite upset there still are people lying shamelessly claiming they are OT when they clearly aren't. That being said, unfortunately this specific question is quite poor, so in this specific case I agree closing it is best.

comment What is the proper, legal way to make a derivative video game?
Hint: if it's a big franchise, just save yourself the time and use it more productively instead.

@ashes999 sure, but just doing that will stagnate you: you should always check with as many other people as possible.

comment How to correctly aggregate networked data into UDP packets while avoiding fragmentation
Still it put you in the wrong track. You are talking about aggregating messages up to 1500 bytes, while in practice 1500 bytes should be like 300 messages: you'd never need to aggregate so much data.

comment Why does my game display the wrong “required Android version” on Google Play?
Oddly, it didn't work: still "1.6 and up"

comment Why does my game display the wrong “required Android version” on Google Play?
The manifest doesn't have that line, so it could be that Unity "forgot" to add it... I'll have a look tomorrow, thanks!

@wes I can't even go below API level 9, so I guess that Unity itself requires that.

I'd remove the first part of this answer, since the only real answer is the second part...
