comment Best solution for multiplayer realtime Android game
I don't think it could be done via bluetooth, I doubt it supports broadcasts: AFAIK it only connects one single host to another, have a very low max connections amount, and is slow.

comment Game server position tracking
You haven't read Valve's networking document bit.ly/valveudp you are supposed to understand it, if you're going to do that sort of game.

comment Game engine design: Multiplayer and listen servers
"In most dedicated servers, a user with the same IP cannot connect to the dedicated server (meaning, the client must either host the server, or play, they cannot do both)." WAT? Where? Why? If some servers have this apparently senseless arbitrary limitation, it doesn't mean he would be forced to do the same when he writes one...

comment Is there a pattern for writing a turn-based server communicating with n clients over sockets?
If you use a TCP socket per client, wouldn't this cap to (65535-1024) clients?

comment What data structure should I use for a Diablo/WoW-style talent tree?
@JonathanHobbs: the point here is having an int primary key, it doesn't really matter if it's autoincremented or not.

+1, it becomes a valid answer just adding a "No" at its beginning.

comment What tools are available for developing 2D games like Tetris or Angry Birds for Android?
On the other hand, Eclipse is by many people considered an awful software. I prefer to use a non-IDE editor and compiling command-line.

comment Handling different version clients in a multiplayer game
Simply allow only minor versions to differ, and if a change that would break compatibility is introduced, change the major version.

comment How can I center a circle around a point on an HTML canvas?
@Isaiah: later you can change the accept to another answer or removed it altogether, so you can freely accept it as soon as it satisfies you.

comment Writing a wrapper vs not writting a wrapper?
Moreover if you are using a (stupid) language that do not support inlining (such as ActionScript or Java), a wrapper will decrease performances.

comment How should I track players' real-time positions in an MMO?
I miss the point about saying "do it with a file", only to explain it is actually worse than using the db and then explaining which is the real problem. Why do you need that useless file explanation in the first place? It only confuses the casual reader, wich no benefit for anyone.

bit.ly/gamebalance I noticed I have been linked this so many times that shortening it to a memorisable link was a clever idea.

comment TCP vs. UDP on mobile platforms?
Why do you find TCP easier? A stream flow is logically more complex to handle than single definite packets. If you consider UDP difficult because you want it to actually be TCP, well, you should be using TCP in the first place instead.
