Great answer! Honestly, thanks for it. I like the idea, even if i think i should go with basic steering behavior and approximative collision for tiled entities. I don't know if it will save me overall CPU usage but i'm sure gonna try to implement something like that. If you don't mind, i may come back to you to share the results of the implementation : ). I'm going to accept this answer anyway, since, as you said, it will reduce the box2d simulation execution time. Thanks again.

@NauticalMile nothign much to say about the gameplay, it's a test case. I'm in a closed environment (a tilled map), i can move around (platformer), and the player have to shoot all the enemies that are steering toward him.

I guess i need the collisions to happen even when ennemies are not on screen since i don't want them to fall through tiles or through each other. I just don't need about being notified of thé contacts via a contact listener.

comment How do I get mouse x / y of the world plane in Unity?
Yeah. Just create a plane in an empty scene (it should have a mesh collider by default). And then just attach a script somewhere that will listen for some inputs and raycast. Try to make it works and if you can't, use it as a base to improve your question.

Could you try to create a minimal project as a test case and submit the relevant code snippet here?

This is hard to help since we don't really know what you have tried. I have done similar things quite sometimes. Have you tried Camera.ScreenPointToRay?

comment LibGDX render sprites in tiled-map format ( convert texture to sprite )
Why are you using two spritebatch? In your first example you used one spritebatch, it was a good approach, why would use a second one when using sprites?
