comment libGDX best way to do Game States
Why would you load the screen date in the Show method? Show is called every time the screen is shown, it's obviously not the right place to load the data your screen need. Load the data in the screen constructor or in the Init method and you should be fine.

comment Change gui in java game
You should look at the concept of 'Game states' and change the content of your jframe regarding the current state. You could create one JPane for all of your state and load them in your JFrame as you need them.

comment Dynamic Events in an Entity Component System
For instance, my DoorSystem (bound to a DoorComponent for example) would query for DoorOpen messages and if one is found, do a doorCompoent.IsOpened = true. Something like that.

I don't think you need to bother with a message component. Just make a processing system (not bound to any component), expose some methods to add message or query for messages. Also you should maybe make sure your messages list does not contains out dated messages.

comment libgdx FollowPath proper usage
What result do you get when you use the default constructor? FollowPath(Steerable<T> owner, Path<T,P> path) What kind of graph do you use? Are you sure the returned path is correct?

comment How to get set up with java, eclipse, and slick 2d?
James_Parsons: that one useful comment mate... Manu: if you want to develop games in Java, i'd recommend using the awesome libGDX framework. I've been using libGDX for a long time and it has an awesome API, abstracting a lot of things for you, a good documentation and a very active community/development.

comment How to deal with inconsitent game state in entity interpolation
What do you mean by 'on the reception of the action'? The client does not receive the action. Could you be a bit more descriptive? : D

comment How can I make several 2D objects move in complex pre-defined patterns?
Maybe you should look at HOTween: hotween.demigiant.com. It's free, simple to use and allow you to animate of lot of property fields like vectors. You can define Sequence to create more complex animations.

comment Unity Photon/PUN - Updating booleans with RPCs
Might not solve your problem but i think it would make more sense if you set 'isMyTurn' to false in your SPACE bar press check condition and just send a RPC to others clients by using PhotonTarget.Others. Maybe it will make the process more clear to you and help you debug more closely.
