+1, Great answer! How could I not consider the actual simulation. Could you please elaborate on "parabolic approximation" (I don't quite understand)? Do you just mean the method of integrating velocities, like for example RK4 and Euler? If so, could you explain it or at least link to some information on how to perform it?
