Why no night sky with realistic star constellations? It's kinda ironic because Fantasy and Science Fiction-Games often have a more thought through star system. Fallout 3, Oblivion and Skyrim for example. |

How to have qt5 work on desktop like on mobile devices (es2, correct glsl version)? uhm, are you using Qt 5 on Linux? Because I know that on Windows it is using ANGLE which is a OpenGL ES 2 implementation (and thus should be able to read OpenGL ES 2 shaders.) |

Should I finish high school or teach myself? Just no, to be hired what you need experience, not schooling. Nobody in the game industry will prefer you because you have some kind of diploma or something. It all comes down on what kind of person you are and how much experience you have. |

How to find a game server in the LAN network with IPv6 technology? Also if so, how is it differentiated which sockets are in the local network, and which are outside, like the internet. |

How to find a game server in the LAN network with IPv6 technology? This answer is probably technically right but it misses a bit of a explanation of how multicast works. Do I understand it correctly that you can create a multicast socket and then everybody in the network knows where this socket is? |

Abstract games that are hard to play for AI/computer? That would include pretty much all games, in most games that have AI opponents they either cheat or are exploiting the fact that they have a much faster reaction time and can do much more micromanagement than a human player. |

Spatial Partitioning - Language Independant I am not suggesting anything like that, all I am saying that you should have the spatial partitioned data structure in addition of more plain data structures. Repopulating it every frame will be more costly than not using it at all. |

Texturing an asteroid Blender has the external edit feature where you can use perspective painting using different applications (such as GIMP) (it basically creates a screenshot on which you can paint and then apply) |

What compilers are used in game development? @SeanMiddleditch Steam for Linux is still in Beta, of course there aren't that many games on it yet. It's true that Linux hasn't received much love from AAA developers yet (which is likely to change with the support of Steam, though). However, for Indie games there is not so much difference in the level of support for Mac and Linux, as the statistics on Desura show: desura.com/games/browse 900 games for Windows, 290 games for Mac and 230 games for Linux. |

What compilers are used in game development? You mention Linux with a note that it "isn't much of a gaming platform" but Mac without, really? |

Music for Kids Game! @Byte56 I would say neither would be likely to be sitting listening to such songs. Those are songs that are teached in kindergarden because they are easy easy to sing together. But from a entertainment point of view I don't think there is much difference because of age. |

Advantages of Steam Greenlight Every game that is published on Steam gets announced. Mind you, it's really hard to green lit, but if your are that is like jackpot. From the thousand games on Greenlight 32 made it so far, and 12 were published.. Chances that you are published on Steam might actually be higher the traditional way (e.g. contacting Valve directly). Given your game really is that polished and fun. |
