The "mix" function would be the tricky part, since it is required to work with any amount of factors and the result would have to be the same independent of the order to avoid any sudden jumps in color, any pointers on that?

60 guaranteed logic steps per second is a whole lot, especially for mobile games. Either unlock the timestep, e.g. use delta time, or use less logic steps.
