@Darkwings I'm not sure why you have a problem with my question or the way I offered the bounty. I did do "even a tiny bit of research". I wrote a bouncing ball simulator and came across a specific problem. I researched some solutions but still couldn't rectify my problem. I posted in here so that someone with experience and knowledge could help me, offering 100 rep as a thank you. People did help and I am glad. There is also now an answer here for future visitors. I've no doubt that this may be "a simple collision handling" but please remember this is the first time I'd tried it.

@Darkwings - I think the community in this scenario know better than me as to what is the best answer. That is why the upvotes will influence my decision. Obviously, if I tried the solution with the most upvotes and it didn't help me, then I wouldn't award to that answer.
