comment How can I manipulate a static 2D sprite so that it looks alive?
I could buy more art or try to make some myself, but I'm dealing with a lot of sprites so having a solution I could apply to all of them at once would be great.

comment Is there a practical reason for saving game data in %UserProfile%\Documents instead of %AppData%?
There's a good writeup somewhere about how Spore pulled at off, wish I could find it.

@Philipp so the answer to my question would be 'whatever the license says' then? In general no.

You're able to use an entire engine for free and only need to pay for the license once you release, I thought it could be the same for art.

Funding is not profit, but I see your point. Do you have any sources for your answer that I can read for more information? I also edited out the 'or stolen' part of the title, because it's just redundancy. Unlicensed == stolen to me.

comment How can I mark levels as “complete” in a way that prevents cheating?
TAS is more than just manually creating a log to be replayed, it means that the game has been manipulated in such a way that you could save states and play it frame by frame for the perfect actions each time. It's not your point, but it's worth mentioning. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool-assisted_speedrun
