I'm currently a software engineer, working for the Intelligent Sensing and Systems Laboratory of Australia's national research organization CSIRO.

My job involves developing research software for iPhone, as well as doing data crunching and developing interactive online content.

I also enjoy programming as a hobby, and am currently doing some tinkering in game development.

comment Canting of track in a racing game
@Nathan: I read this more as a request for help determining the ideal camber (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cant_(road/rail)) of the road surface.

comment Arbitrary projection matrix from 6 arbitrary frustum planes
Another use case is dual-screen rendering - in this case you want two projection matrices, each representing one half of the original projection. You essentially split your perspective projection down the middle, so that the left or right plane (depending on which half it is) becomes parallel to the view direction, while the rest of the projection is untouched. Naturally, the same principle applies to view splitting in other configurations too (such as the box type projection setups used in flight simulators).

comment Why don't more games use vector art?
Vector graphics are not always more efficient for storage - in general, as the detail in an image increases so too does the complexity of its representation as a vector image. There usually comes a point where a detailed image will in fact be more compact in raster form than vector form - I believe most textures fall into this category, which is a good reason why rasters are used more than vectors.

revised Detecting wins in peer to peer RTS games like Starcraft
fix link (bad paren). Had to resort to titled link because of minimum character requirement.
