How do I make a fiery particle system? But then it's just a bunch of orangey squares/circles. How do you make more realistic fire? |

Trouble exporting Maya models to Panda3D? I'll try the command line thing. No NURBS were involved. I used Modify->Convert->Smooth Mesh Preview to Polygons. So I guess it's still polygons? I just used Reduce a bunch of times so it seems more manageable now. but still having problem #1. |

How to use music in a simple game? Don't you like it when people just throw a -1 in there without explaining why whatsoever? I for one thought it was a good answer. +1. |

Easy to use cross-platform 3D engines for C++ game development? So when Simon says he wouldn't recommend it because it doesn't offer custom memory-allocation implementations, really this doesn't apply to a beginner, or even to most intermediate developers? |

What applications can I use to generate music? And where did you get the idea that it's just dubstep? You could make any genre of music with Ableton, really. How is it even possible for a piece of software to only allow one sort of music? As if it detects what you're doing and stops you if it doesn't like it? "Sorry! That sounds almost like trance with elements of classical. Removing file and restarting program." |

What applications can I use to generate music? @Coder404 LMAO "It's just an appplication that allows you to make dubstep from songs that were already made." You could not possibly be more wrong; Ableton (like most professional audio suites) is a very sophisticated piece of software. There's no easy way to do this. Making music like that takes an intermediate to strong understanding of some very complex software. Any DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), such as Ableton, Cubase, or Logic Pro will allow you to do what you desire, but there is a long and steep learning curve. Making music is no walk in the park. |

Is there a repository of game logic algorithms? At the moment I happen to be seeking (As I said?) 2D tracking logic . . . like to make a computer enemy effectively chase the player. Alive isn't really what I was looking for...I'm hoping for help in algorithm design. I can't even really tell what Alive is from it's very poor project description. Thanks anyway though. |
