comment Drawing a Line in 3D using DirectX 11
What do you mean by "The 3D Lines are projects in 2D and that's so weird"? How is the rendered line you showed not correct?

comment How do I view currently downloading assets in Unity?
This question doesn't really belong here, since its just about how to use Unity, not actual game development. You're much more likely to get some answers over on Unity's official QA site: answers.unity3d.com

comment Achieving 1 pixel outline around sprites which changes colour depending on the background?
@ddyer The example is from a game currently being developed, so while you're right about classic games, we're talking about modern hardware.

@RoyT. Thanks for the link! I did some searching 'round the stackexchange, but never tried the term simplify :)

Right now we do have a converter to import their model format and create a D3DXMesh. Due to the high level of detail of the model the polycount is enormous, but we expect Optimize or OptimizeInPlace to reduce the polycount (and when we use a quite large epsilon, reduce it drastically).

@RoyT. There's no change in triangle count before or after running optimize, which is very confusing to me since I thought that was the point of the Optimize methods...

@knight666 It's a simulation package, and the client needs to be able to import any of their models into it, regardless of polycount. So we can't process it offline, we just need to optimize as much as possible.
