Currently interested in Schur functions and semistandard Young tableaux and misc. related representation theory and combinatorics.

Phd thesis defended 2013, titled Combinatorial Methods in Complex Analysis.

I keep an eye out for interesting results related to complex dynamics, computability, and computer-assisted research. I use Mathematica extensively in my research. My other main programming languages are Java, LaTeX, PHP, C, etc.

comment How to move an object uniformly from one point to another at a fixed angle?
Just surprises me, this is essentially a math question, and LaTeX is the standard for typing mathematics...

What, LaTeX does not work here?

comment Is it possible to calculate or mathematically prove if a game is balanced / fair?
Well, run a bunch of simulations/gather data. That is how they do balancing in StarCraft 2... They measure which units are used most, and which race wins the most. Data collection is the key for complex games, and statistics is just as good as mathematics. Even better I'd say, since you'll capture psychological effects as well. That is why there are not nearly as many mathematicians playing poker than you'll expect.

Well, leaving and entering should not give you any advantage, but I cannot see how leaving a poker game, and then reenter would....

comment Java Tile Collision Detection not accurate enough
I would suggest you to read a bit on linear algebra, and how basis changes work. Then you can find exactly the tile the user selects without using collision algorithms altogether. It sound like this is what you seek. Thus, it is not too hard to implement <code>Point2d getTileCoord(Point2d moiseclick)</code> if you have a static set of tiles in a grid.

comment Player icon auto generator
There is a nifty system in OpenTTD, which generates random faces, by gluing together hair, eyes, skin color, and some other features. These features can be changed by the user.

You should be using doubles, which is even more accurate, and is probably just as quick as float, at least if you're on a 64-bit system...
