I'm looking to release a mobile game soon (initial release on Android) with a marketing budget of $0. What are some ways to market the game without purchasing ad's?

EDIT: Please note I'm looking for examples other mobile games have used for marketing, not trying to poll random ideas.

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Build an awesome game. That markets itself. And tell your friends. :) –  ashes999 Nov 7 '13 at 20:53
This isn't the place to poll for ideas, but you could sort through this pretty easily without suggestions. Distributing information is easier than ever these days, and if your product is good, people will want to tell everyone else about your product. –  Evan Nov 7 '13 at 20:53
@ashes999 I planned on doing that :) I'm just afraid about getting past the initial push of exposure. –  thedeadlybutter Nov 7 '13 at 20:55
@evan Sorry I guess this could be considered polling for ideas but I was more looking for specific examples, I'll edit my question to reflect that. –  thedeadlybutter Nov 7 '13 at 20:56
