Game Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional and independent game developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I started studying C 3 month ago and I still find it quite harsh sometimes :) I'd like to get involved in some kind of game open source project to get some experience with both C and game development concepts. I have some experience with Java as well. Is there any project a newbie like me to join ?

There's no single, definite answer to that. We're expecting questions that can be reasonably answered, check the faq, you should probably ask this question on a more traditional forum, e.g. gamedev.net. That said, there are plenty of projects around the Internet, just pick up one that inspires you. Or just start your own, 3 months is a bit short to start something serious anyway. – Laurent Couvidou Nov 30 '12 at 9:42

Dont think you will find many advertisments for that here. but a good place to go is Gamedev.net and look in the "Help Wanted forums" they are allways looking for programmers for varius projects. Even if 99% of them never get finished or even do half of whats stated. but it´s a good starting point indeed.

good luck!

This isnt more helpfull than the comment. And should be a comment not a answer. – GameDev-er Nov 30 '12 at 20:31
