JavaFX was not built with speed in mind, therefore the JavaFX 2D and 3D libraries are too slow.

I suggest you use JOGL from www.jogamp.org. This library is more than commercially viable.

Better yet, avoid Java completely and use C++ –  bobobobo Sep 21 '12 at 17:41

Really?! Java is way better than C++. Java has more: compatibility, is cross platform, is more intuitive to write, and performance is sometimes better. Using C++ will get you stuck with a hand full of client devices and lots of licensing fees. –  Pixelapp Team Sep 21 '12 at 17:43

I guess that would be a concern for you, if you're concentrating on targeting multiplatform out of the box. Right now I'm concentrating on iOS. It's my opinion that planning cross platform compatibility too early is not a good idea, unless you're building something like Dropbox, that's supposed to be ubiquitous from the get go. Just pick a platform and dev for it. –  bobobobo Sep 21 '12 at 19:37

@bobobobo I didn't mean to be harsh. Both programming languages are good in my opinion. I just thought you were a troll talking smack about Java. –  Pixelapp Team Sep 21 '12 at 19:49

Oh, but I am ;). –  bobobobo Sep 21 '12 at 20:26
