Please forgive my posting if this doesn't belong, as I'm at my "day job" and I'm hoping to get advice here as in my heart it pertains to this area. I have two apps (iOS) a game and a utility that I'm about to launch, but before so I need to supply my EIN number, which I'm about to apply for.. As a small startup consisting of my wife, myself and a graphic designer who is on my team, what type of business should I apply to be? An LLC, sole proprietor? I don't have anyone to be on a payroll, except the designer who is a coworker (from my day job lol) who we have a contract wrote up with how he will be paid. Just wondering if there are any small startups that are legally setup and any advice?

This question is off-topic on this site. Try OnStartups. (Probably, it's already answered there.) – Joe Wreschnig May 2 '12 at 16:39
This also depends on where in the world you are. – Matsemann May 2 '12 at 16:43
OnStartups is definitely a better place to ask these types of questions. For example: answers.onstartups.com/questions/29861/… – Tetrad May 2 '12 at 16:51
