Game Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional and independent game developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am working on a project with a Kinect. I can either do very simple user interaction (have them wave, jump, clap, etc.) or do something a bit more fun. The bit more fun option would be a basic game where objects roll towards a person and the user jumps over the objects. The graphics of this game do not have to be great by any means.

My experience: I am pretty good with C# (have done a fair amount of asp stuff), have looked at WPF, and have never coded for a Kinect before.

I do not mind putting in the effort to do the game but just wanted to know how difficult this undertaking might be.

I would be happy to answer anything I left out and really appreciate any advice you might be able to lend.

Have a great day!

I don't think anyone can answer how long it will take you personally to learn how to do what you've envisioned. – ClassicThunder Mar 1 '12 at 21:08
@ClassicThunder That's a fair point. I guess I am just trying to get some idea how tough this might be. – PFranchise Mar 1 '12 at 21:10
Just saying as it is it'll probably get closed. See if you can reword to fit in with the FAQ. – ClassicThunder Mar 1 '12 at 21:12
You might want to ask your question in chat, since it's more of a discussion and not something that can be currently answered. – thedaian Mar 1 '12 at 21:27
Yeah, the question is a bit vague and the answer to "how difficult this undertaking might be" is very subjective and depends more on you and your skills than anything else. Perhaps you should just try it and then, if you have specific problems, come and ask. :-) – Richard Marskell - Drackir Mar 1 '12 at 21:36
