I have been using Unity to create 3D games for about six months, and I'm looking into expanding my portfolio to include 2D apps for mobile devices.

My concern is the size and system requirements of a simple 2D app using Unity, versus the same game created in a dedicated 2D engine, such as Corona.

Cost, complexity, etc. are not the issues for me. I just want an optimal result for mobile platforms. I'd prefer to stick with Unity, but I need to know if Corona (or something similar) offers SIGNIFICANT savings in either memory requirements or runtime overhead.

If you know of comparisons, I'd be in your debt if you shared them.

Thanks!
