Possible Duplicate:
How to generate a universe?

Were would I start looking if I wanted to develop an engine to simulate space at random. Things like black holes, galaxies at distance and moving stars, asteroids and so on?

I would like to know if anyone has some good tips for this, or if there is some information online?

So, are you asking "how do I make a game with a simulated universe?" or "how do I make a simulated universe?" or something else? – thedaian Oct 13 '11 at 18:34

Given the answer you marked as correct, generating a universe and simulating it are not the same. – Byte56 Oct 14 '11 at 23:59

You're talking about procedural generation, the linked wikipedia page should be a good start point. See also this stackoverflow question/answer.
