Game Development Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional and independent game developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm asking this question on behalf of a twitterer who seems to be having trouble with a Stencyl game. This is all the information I have on the question, and I know it's vague, so I will add more as it becomes available.

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. I don't see much use in you trying to have us solve a vague problem someone else is having. If another person has a problem he/she should come here and give us a lot of details and then we can take a look. (I see in your bio you work for Stack Exchange so is there any more to this question? If not you should really know better). –  Roy T. Sep 28 '11 at 21:35

@Roy This is something we try to do to get twitterer's attention. If I got an @ reply saying "I don't know, but maybe try my website, you could find an answer there!" I'd dismiss it as spam instantly. But if I can actually get back to them with some useful information, then we can get their attention more effectively. I don't mean this question to be annoying, though, and I'm sorry if it comes off that way. –  Abby T. Miller Sep 28 '11 at 21:40

I understand that it might be a way to get people to visit but won't this litter this site with half understood questions? It also seems a bit of a long-shot tbh. Is there something on any META page about this idea? Since this is probably not the best place to discuss this. :) –  Roy T. Sep 28 '11 at 21:43

As for the question. I read here that Stencyl is just a fancy flash game creator that supports a full ActionScript API stencyl.com/stencylworks/overview and here newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/monetization/flash-ads that NewGrounds' API consist of a generated ActionScript file so it should be just c/p and then using these functions. So what exactly is the problem? –  Roy T. Sep 28 '11 at 21:50

@Roy Seems like the moment has passed... I flagged this myself as NARQ since I don't know the details and it seems to no longer be an issue for the original asker. –  Abby T. Miller Sep 29 '11 at 12:35
