I have a BA degree, but no experience in developing computer games or computer programming. What topics do I need to learn to find a job related to computer game development? Where should I start?

(if it helps I have experience in painting and drawing.)

Thanks

For starters, define what job/role you want. Like, I would assume from the "art student" bit that you want to be a game artist, but since you mention "computer programming" it's unclear. –  jhocking May 29 at 12:32

Start Drawing, Animating, constructing characters, build a portfolio. Have something to showcase your abilities, there is no real silver-bullet "skill". You need to show that you have passion for it and can do it well well.
